Rafael Devers has been dealing with a hamstring injury, while Jung Hoo Lee is said to have suffered a rolled ankle. On Friday, the San Francisco Giants received inspiring updates for both players.

Reports indicate that Devers, who is 29 years old, could return to the Giants' spring training lineup soon, according to Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area. Additionally, Lee rolled his ankle during a World Baseball Classic practice, but it's not considered serious, and he is not expected to miss any games.

“Rafael Devers (hamstring) is doing well and could get back into the lineup early next week. Tony Vitello said the Giants were told that Jung Hoo Lee rolled his ankle during a WBC practice, but it's fine, and he won't miss any games.”

Both stars are expected to play major roles for the Giants this season. Devers is stepping in as the club's go-to first baseman, with his big bat playing a major factor in the lineup. Meanwhile, Lee will play in the outfield for San Francisco. The Korean star is set to begin his third season in MLB.

The Giants initially traded for Rafael Devers last season with the Boston Red Sox to improve their infield. Boston was almost forced to trade the three-time All-Star because he refused to switch positions, claiming that he was never informed he would be playing first base in Boston. However, with San Francisco being up front with Devers, he seemingly has no problem playing the position for the club.

Devers played 163 total games in 2025 (73 with the Red Sox, 90 with the Giants). He finished the year with a .252 batting average and .479 OBP while recording 153 hits, 35 home runs, and 109 RBIs.

As for Jung Hoo Lee, the 27-year-old outfielder showed improvement last year compared to his 2024 debut. He ended the 2025 campaign with a .266 batting average and .327 OBP, along with 149 hits, eight home runs, 55 RBIs, and 10 stolen bases.
