Ms. Marvel episode 4 ending explained

Ms. Marvel, Marvel, Entertainment

This week's episode of Ms. Marvel starts off with Kamala and her mother on board a plane going to Karachi, Pakistan. As they arrive, Kamala's grandmother welcomes them and they all go home together.

Once in her grandmother's residence, Kamala settles inside a room filled with her Nani's artwork. She tells her granddaughter a little about Aisha while the teenager asks her about the bangle. At this point, Kamala's grandmother confirms that she is a Djinn. She then recounts how these abilities saved her from losing her father back during the Partition when they got separated on a train ride.

Just as she was sleeping, Kamala had several visions of the train once again and her recent battle with the Clandestines. She wakes up to her cousins, who take Kamala and her mother to meet other members of the family, and explore popular spots in Karachi. At this point, the teenager says she wants to explore the old train station on her own.

After getting to the train station, Kamala dons a mask and checks out the place on her own. All of a sudden, a masked individual attacks Kamala and mistakes her for being one of the Clandestines. He then notices the bangle and asks Kamala how she got it from Aisha. They quickly reconcile and he asks the teenager to come with him for more information.

The masked individual takes Kamala to a secret headquarters and introduces himself as Kareem, a part of the Red Daggers, a group led by Waleed. He then tells the teenager about how Aisha and the Clandestines come from another dimension, a place that has been separated by a veil of Noor, the same energy found from the bangle. He adds that the Clandestines will use that piece of jewelry to tear down the veil and open the way to their dimension, which will destroy our reality.

Waleed notices the inscription on Kamala's bangle. He tells her that what she is seeking is seeking her too.

In another part of the world, Kamran and the other Clandestines make their way out of the Damage Control facility holding them. After escaping, Kamran's mother leaves him behind after choosing to side with Kamala during the last episode's events. They will now pursue the teenager to take her bangle away.

Back in Karachi, Kareem takes Kamala to meet his friends during a bonfire gathering. While she is away, Kamala's mother and grandmother spend time together after years of being apart.

The following day, Kamala is back with the Red Daggers as she starts being trained by Waleed. While this is happening, the Clandestines arrive to take the bangle. Waleed and Kareem take Kamala away as they are being chased by the powered individuals. A chase ensues on the roads of Karachi as Waleed gets separated from the two to delay his opponents. The Clandestines, meanwhile, split off to chase the pair.

In all of the chaos, Najma manages to kill Waleed. Kareem and Kamala use the opening Waleed gave them to enter an old building and found themselves cornered inside it. The pair engage Najma's henchmen in a battle, which saw several of them eliminated by Kareem. Out of desperation, Najma strikes a knife into Kamala's bangle, which causes a blinding light.

After Kamala gains her senses, she finds herself in the middle of a busy train station. It appears she is transported during the time of the Partition.

What just happened? A Ms. Marvel episode 4 recap

This week's episode of Ms. Marvel builds on the invitation Kamala's grandmother to learn more about Aisha's past. This leads the series to shift to Karachi as the teenage hero learns more about her power, her great-grandmother's bangle, and what the Clandestines are truly after. Along with these discoveries, Kamala also discovers the Red Daggers and meets Waleed and Kareem, two new characters who have ties to Aisha.

While the story has shifted to Pakistan, the ending of this episode takes the series out of the current time and leaves Kamala in the middle of the Partition, a chaotic time for both India and Pakistan. It's expected that the following episode will finally reveal what happened to Aisha, her daughter, and how the bangle plays into all of this. In any case, it'll take another week of waiting for next week's episode to shed some light on this matter.
