Golden State Warriors president Bob Myers has confirmed that Kevin Durant has suffered an Achilles injury in Game 5 of the NBA Finals against the Toronto Raptors

Per Ben Golliver of Washington Post, Myers said that he doesn't know the extent of Durant's injury. The two-time Finals MVP is scheduled for an MRI on Tuesday.

Durant picked up the injury in the second quarter of the game against the Raptors. While the team initially called the issue a lower right leg injury, the prevailing thought was Durant injured his Achilles. KD was seen nursing his right Achilles when he went down.

The 30-year-old superstar finished the night with 11 points in 12 minutes of action. He was seen leaving Scotiabank Arena with crutches while wearing a walking boot.

While the Warriors survived Game 5 with a 106-105 victory, Durant's injury is a huge blow to the team. They found themselves trailing 3-1 in the NBA Finals in the absence of Durant before gutting out their latest victory.

Durant is likely out for the rest of the series, so it's now up to the Warriors to respond top the adversity they are facing. The devastating injury to unarguably their best player could serve as an inspiration to the Dubs, but they know very wall they have a tough task at hand against a well-balanced Raptors team.

Game 6 is on Thursday, June 13, at the Oracle Arena.
