News flash: LeBron James is a great basketball player.

The Los Angeles Lakers superstar continues to climb up the ladder of all-time records in the NBA Playoffs. He is already first in wins, points, steals, and minutes, second in triple-doubles and three-point field goals, and third in assists.

Yet it seems the number of his haters surpasses all of those.

The King, however, found an ally in Portland Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard, who took to Twitter to comment about the disrespect LBJ has been getting throughout the years.

It has been said many times by experts that LeBron is a generational talent and fans shouldn’t take him for granted. But many still take shots at the four-time MVP for several reasons: The Decision, 3-6 record in the NBA Finals, the flopping, alleged favoritism from referees, etc.

Lillard recently experienced LeBron’s greatness first-hand. Unfortunately, it cost the Trail Blazers their campaign as they got dominated by the Lakers in the first round of this year’s postseason. LeBron averaged a triple-double in the series to the tune of 27.4 points, 10.2 rebounds, and 10.2 assists in five outings.

The proud son of Akron, Ohio then led the Purple and Gold to quick disposals of the Houston Rockets and the Denver Nuggets to make his eighth straight NBA Finals appearance. That‘s more than most of the teams in the league.

In Game 1 against the Miami Heat on Thursday night, LeBron James finished with a near triple-double of 25 points, 13 boards, and nine dimes.
