Why The Celtics Could Cover The Spread
The Boston Celtics have had a rollercoaster of a season so far. They started off the year struggling but seem to be gaining lots of momentum. Through their first 66 games, they have a solid record of 39-27. Boston is beginning to peak when it matters most and will look to score another win on Wednesday. The Celtics have won their last three matches, with their most recent victory coming over the Brooklyn Nets by 6. Prior to that match, they took down both the Grizzlies and the Hawks. This Boston team is for real and they will look to continue to build on their win streak in this match.
The Celtics' recent success can be attributed to their star player, Jayson Tatum. In their win over Atlanta, he had 33, against Memphis he put up 37, and against Brooklyn he scored 54. Three straight impressive outings from Tatum, three straight wins for the Celtics, not a coincidence. Against a Nets team that had both KD and Kyrie on the floor, Tatum stepped up and carried his team. The Celtics are obviously more than just their best player, however, it seems that the success of the team and the success of Tatum are inextricably tied together. If Tatum can continue his dominance then the Hornets should not be able to compete.
One of the biggest reasons for this team's recent success, besides Tatum, is that they are finally healthy. The Celtics currently have only one player listed on their injury report. Just in time for a playoff push, the Celtics are at full health and ready for battle. This Boston team is not the same as they were at the beginning of the season, and Wednesday's game could be a blowout. Charlotte is a very solid opponent, but the Celtics should be able to take over and come out on top.

The Charlotte Hornets seem to be losing a lot of steam. For a team that started off this season strong, they appear to be fizzling out. Through their first 66 games, they have a losing record of 32-34. They are coming off a loss against a team that the Celtics just beat. Charlotte came up short against the Nets, losing by 11. The Hornets will look to turn things around on Wednesday against another tough opponent. This team has talent and they have the potential to make a deep run this year, but they keep underperforming. If they can score a win against the Celtics that would be a huge step in the right direction.
This Hornets team seems to revolve around three players. However, unlike with the Celtics, those players have not been enough to get consistent victories over tough opponents.
