These two teams have had somewhat different starts to the season. The Phoenix Suns have been one of the best teams in the league and have won 12 of their last 13 games. While the Chicago Bulls have also been solid and have won three of their last four matches. This should be an interesting game between two competitive teams.

Chicago Bulls: +7.5 (-108)

Under: 227.5 (-110)

Why The Suns Could Cover The Spread

The Phoenix Suns may just be the best team in basketball right now. While many teams have been struggling, the Suns have been on a roll and have been consistently winning games. Through their first 52 games, they have an astonishing 42 wins and only 10 losses. Phoenix has looked nearly unstoppable. Their most recent victory came over the Washington Wizards by 15. The Suns face a tough opponent in Chicago, but by no means does that mean they are underdogs in this match. Phoenix has shown that they are more than capable of taking down any opponent and will look to secure another win on Monday.

The Suns depth is what separates them from nearly every other team in the league. Phoenix has at least four players that could lead the team on any given night. Devin Booker, Chris Paul, and Deandre Ayton are one of the most impressive big threes in the league. But what truly separates the Suns is the ability of players like Mikal Bridges and Cameron Johnson to play meaningful minutes and contribute to the team's success. If the Suns keep on playing the way they have been then there is no game that is not winnable for this team.

The only potential roadblock for Phoenix is injuries. The Suns currently have five players listed on their injury report. They are lucky that their most important contributors are healthy, but still, losing five players is difficult for any team. The most notable absence is Cameron Payne who is out with a wrist injury. Regardless, the Suns have had to overcome adversity all season and have consistently shown that they can come out ahead. Expect another solid night from Phoenix.

Why The Bulls Could Cover The Spread

At one point this season the Chicago Bulls were one of, if not the, top teams in basketball. Chicago has had to face some adversity this season in the form of injuries, but has managed to stay competitive. Through their first 53 games, the Bulls have secured 33 wins and only 20 losses. They have been somewhat inconsistent recently and are coming off an 11 point loss to the Philadelphia 76ers. The Bulls will look to bounce back and pull off an impressive upset at home. If Chicago can get this win that would be a huge confidence booster for this team that has been struggling recently.

To say that the Bulls are missing Zach LaVine would be a dramatic understatement. LaVine is the face of this franchise and his absence has been notable. In their loss to the Sixers DeMar DeRozan did everything he could, scoring 45 points in over 40 minutes of playing time, yet the team still came up short. The Bulls have been struggling to game plan without key roster members and it's looking like that trend may continue on Monday. They have been hit by some devastating injuries, but will look to battle through them against Phoenix.

Chicago currently has six players listed on their injury report. Those players include Zach LaVine, Lonzo Ball, Alex Caruso, and Coby White. Of the injured players only Zach LaVine and Coby White are listed as day-to-day. These injuries are devastating and will prove to be nearly impossible to overcome. If the Bulls are going to pull off this upset they will need some of their bench players to seriously step up. While it's not impossible, the likelihood of Chicago getting this win seems slim to none.

Final Suns-Bulls Prediction & Pick

If both these teams were at full health then this would be such a good game. Unfortunately for basketball fans, injuries are just a part of the sport. With the injuries to Chicago, picking the Bulls to cover seems like the wrong move. The Suns have all their key guys available and have been dominant recently. Phoenix has been steam rolling teams and the Bulls will likely be no exception. Pick Phoenix to win and cover and expect a lopsided victory.
