The NBA Trade Deadline is just hours away and that means many deals are being discussed right now. Two teams who have had negotiations recently are the Charlotte Hornets and San Antonio Spurs, who are trying to put together a package involving Jakob Poeltl and PJ Washington. However, they've hit a roadblock because of a first-rounder.

Via HoopsHype's Michael Scotto:

The Charlotte Hornets and San Antonio Spurs have discussed a possible trade of PJ Washington, Kai Jones, and the inclusion of a first-round draft pick for Jakob Poeltl, league sources told HoopsHype. Currently, both sides are haggling over the potential inclusion of a first-round pick in the trade.

The Hornets are looking for more depth at center and did show interest in Myles Turner, but it looks like he might stay in Indiana after all. Poeltl has been a name garnering lots of interest up to the deadline, with the Toronto Raptors and Dallas Mavericks among the teams who are keen to trade for the big man.

As for Washington, he's a high-flyer who will become a restricted free agent in 2023. He's one of the Hornets' main bench pieces, averaging 9.9 points and 5.5 rebounds.

This is a situation to keep an eye on as the 12 PM PST deadline nears.
