News around the pine prior to the trade deadline was that the Brooklyn Nets were looking to offload Spencer Dinwiddie in the hopes of further bolstering their squad for this season's title run. That obviously never came to fruition, but one of the rumored trade offers involved Kelly Oubre Jr. and the Golden State Warriors.

Dinwiddie himself has spoken out about the rumor, stating that the Nets actually declined the offer from the Dubs in order to keep him in Brooklyn:

The audio is quite inaudible, but Dinwiddie appears to be explaining how it was the Nets that turned down Golden State's offer for a Dinwiddie-Oubre swap—not the other way around.

Dinwiddie is still rehabbing his surgically-repaired ACL on his right knee. He is expected to be out for the season. However, there has been some hope of a possible return for the 27-year-old at some point in the campaign, with Dinwiddie himself hinting at that possibility.

Nevertheless, this is anything but guaranteed. The Nets have been extremely cautious with their players when it comes to injury, and they won't force Dinwiddie back to action prematurely. As such, trading him in exchange for a player that can come in and contribute in the short term appears to be something the front office has considered.

Brooklyn is clearly all in this season and they've shown that they will do everything they can to improve their chances of bringing home the title.
