Boston Celtics play-by-play announcer Mike Gorman has had it up to here with all the Isaiah Thomas talk. In a recent appearance on 98.5 The Sports Hub’s Toucher and Rich show, Gorman voiced his displeasure with all the drama surrounding the former Celtics point guard.

“I’m kind of tired with Isaiah, to be honest with you. He was a great player in the time that he spent with us — certainly had a year that was almost unmatched by anybody last year. But whether or not he ever speaks to Danny Ainge again, I don’t care. I really don’t care.

“It was a great two and a half years,” he said. “Take nothing away from the kid’s performance. He was unlike almost anybody we had ever seen, especially in the fourth quarter of games last year. He had a remarkable run, but it was one year.”

Thomas has not made his dissatisfaction at how the Celtics treated him a secret in the months following the trade.

Thomas was a terrific player while wearing the Celtics' green, particularly during last year’s remarkable run. Although, Gorman rightly points out how one great year does not give him nearly enough clout to make such a fuss, especially considering how storied the Celtics franchise is not only in basketball but in sports.

The whole saga involving Thomas and the Celtics will eventually blow over in time. But Gorman and some other people who share his sentiments will be a lot happier if it finally goes away sooner rather than later.
