The Boston Celtics came away with a solid 102-88 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers. However, that was not the biggest headline of the night.
It was also the first time that Cavs star point guard Isaiah Thomas returned to the TD Garden since the blockbuster trade over the summer. To no surprise, Thomas received a warm welcome and even got a chance to share a moment with a few of his former teammates and acquaintances after the game.

The trade between the Celtics and the Cavs was undoubtedly the most notable deal in one of the most eventful offseasons in recent history. Although Kyrie Irving knew he was on his way out, the trade had come to a complete surprise to Isaiah Thomas.
For months, Thomas has not been shy about the bitter feelings toward Celtics general manager Danny Ainge — which he apparently ironed out tonight. He maintains that there is still nothing but love for the fans of Boston and they certainly reciprocated those feelings back toward Isaiah Thomas on Wednesday night.
Unfortunately, he was unable to suit up for the Cavs after making his 2017-18 season debut on Tuesday. That said, fans will have to wait a bit longer to see Thomas square off against his old team.
