For someone who got traded away from a situation he loved, Isaiah Thomas certainly has no bad blood.
The former point guard of the Boston Celtics, Thomas has been chronicling his experience playing for a new team, the Cleveland Cavaliers, on The Players' Tribune. It's a video documentary series, and he recently released Part 4, which delves into his experience with the Celtics.
In the 10-plus-minute, video, Thomas pours his heart out over his former city, remembering fondly his time there and how the local community of Boston accepted him.
Article Continues Below“I had the best years of my career so far in Boston,” Thomas says in the video. “The people there, they brought me in with open arms. You would think I've been there 10, 15 years.”
The Celtics traded Thomas during the offseason to the Cavaliers for Kyrie Irving during the offseason after Irving asked to be dealt. Many thought the trade was ill-advised by the Celtics because Thomas played through injury and the death of his sister during the playoffs.
But Thomas has since moved on from that time, and can now reminisce on just how much it meant for him to be in Boston. Celtics fans, who still love Thomas, will be glad to see that he still loves them back.
