NBA legend Charles Barkley, who's known for his strong declarative statements, has made another huge comment yet again, this time concerning the Arizona Wildcats' DeAndre Ayton.

As reported by Langston Wertz Jr. of The Charlotte Observer, Barkley said that the 7-foot-1 Ayton is not only the best college player in this year's NCAA Tournament but also the best college player in the past 25 years.

The 20-year-old center is averaging 20.3 points a night, to go along with 11.5 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 1.9 blocks. He certainly has the statistics to add credibility to Chuck's statement.

However, a quick look back at the players of the past 25 years might attract a wave of criticism for Barkley. College standouts of the past quarter decade include Anthony Davis, Kevin Durant, Chris Paul, Stephen Curry, Tyler Hansbrough, and Jason Williams.

ESPN's Max Kellerman echoed Barkley's statements, tagging Ayton as another “unicorn” to be added to the NBA.

“DeAndre Ayton of Arizona. 7'1, 250. Chisled, fast, quick, and nimble. Touch around the basket with a nice shooting stroke with range. Shaq with a shot.”

Kellerman also pointed out how NBA bigs have been dominating the league and changing the game of basketball. Centers like Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins, Karl-Anthony Towns, Joel Embiid, or Kristaps Porzingis can both power and finesse their way to the rim but also shoot accurately from the outside. For Kellerman, Ayton will soon join those bigs who have been revolutionizing the game of basketball.

As always, time can only tell if Ayton can forge his way into the history books of the NBA. He has a long way to go.First things first, he must first find a way to power his team against Buffalo on Thursday.
