LaMelo Ball is never the type to settle for the ordinary. Unfortunately for him, his showboating resulted in a botched play worthy of Shaqtin a Fool.

To be fair that would have been quite a highlight-reel play had it gone it. Well, it didn't and it clearly did not sit well with Hornets coach James Borrego. The Charlotte shot-caller immediately signaled to the bench as he decided to take Ball out of the ballgame for his antics.

The Hornets bench also reacted to Ball's botched dunk attempt. It was Terry Rozier who checked into the game to replace Ball and he knew what was coming even before coach Borrego called his number. You could almost hear the exasperated sighs of the players on the Charlotte bench after that head-scratcher from their superstar.

This should be a harsh lesson for Ball. Then again, his panache and his flamboyance that make him so entertaining to watch so I guess this won't hurt him too much.
