The Los Angeles Clippers handed the Charlotte Hornets their fourth straight loss and they have now gone 0-3 in their road trip. The Hornets came out strong in the beginning though, holding a 13-point lead in the first half at one point and looked locked in on both sides of the ball.
Fast forward to the start of the fourth quarter and the Hornets went on a nine to nothing run to start. However, the Clippers owned the last seven minutes, going on a 22-0 run at one point. That was enough for the Clippers to steal the game away from the young Hornets roster.
“Every possession matters, especially down the stretch,” James Borrego said. “We'll learn from it, we'll get better, and move forward for tomorrow night.”
The Hornets saw the game drift away from them play after play in the fourth frame. They were taking good shots, but nothing was going down for them. Miles Bridges said they allowed the Clippers to just speed them up in the final minutes.

“We should have settled the offense down and got some good shots, but we were rushing it. I don't know what happened, honestly,” Bridges said.
Bridges finished the game with 21 points but admitted that “he got too stagnant” and missed a few easy layups. Things just weren't clicking for the Hornets in the final quarter, but they still played a good game overall. LaMelo Ball also finished with 21 points on top seven rebounds and three assists in front of his family and friends at Staples Center. LaMelo is a native of the Southern California area, so there was plenty of support for the 20-year-old star to feed off of.
The Hornets need to shake off the loss and get ready for the next game. They will take on the Los Angeles Lakers in the same building on the second end of a back-to-back on Monday. LeBron James is likely out, but the Lakers still feature Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook. The Hornets are looking to get back to the .500 mark with a win.
