The Chicago Bulls are about to get a major boost with the impending return of Alex Caruso. The 28-year-old has been out of action for seven weeks after undergoing surgery on his right wrist but is now nearing his much-awaited return to action.

Caruso himself has spoken out about his comeback and while he did not provide a definitive target date, what is clear is that he's almost there (Chicago Bulls on Twitter):

“We're close,” Caruso responded when asked about when he intends to return.

Caruso was cleared for contact on Wednesday and he was able to practice in full on Friday. There appear to be no setbacks in his rehab thus far, which points to the fact that he should be able to return sooner rather than later.

The Bulls are scheduled to take on the Cleveland Cavaliers on Saturday in a marquee Eastern Conference matchup. Since Caruso technically hasn't been ruled out for that matchup, there's actually a small chance that he takes the court. His next chance to play would be on Monday against the Sacramento Kings.

The Bulls have not been a very good team of late and they could sure use an Alex Caruso-sized boost at the soonest possible time.
