On Friday night when the L.A. Clippers visit the streaking Detroit Pistons at Little Caesars Arena for a primetime contest, all eyes are going to be on Pistons' newly-acquired star power forward Blake Griffin and how he plays against his former team. Clippers rising star guard Lou Williams, who was Griffin's teammate for half of the 2017-18 season, joked around with the media on Wednesday and said that he wouldn't be surprised if Griffin comes out playing rough.

“Blake's going to hack the hell out of somebody, I'll tell you that right now,” Williams said with a laugh. “Luckily we won't have to see those guys in L.A. for another season, so it won't be quite the same being in Detroit. But let's get it out of the way. It should be fun.”

A video of the interview with Williams, which was recorded and posted to Twitter by ClutchPoints' own Tomer Azarly, can be viewed below.

Lou Will has plenty to smile about on Wednesday afternoon, as the Clippers rewarded the guard with a three-year contract extension for his stellar play this season. Williams will not be on the move this trade deadline and is continuing to play out of his mind for the Clippers.

“It was nice for the organization to commit to me the same way I've committed to these guys this year,” Williams said of his new deal. “In years past, these scenarios don't usually go my way, so it was nice for one to go my way and [for me to end up] somewhere I wanted to be. … It's just nice to have that one consistent — you know you're going to be somewhere for an extended period of time.”

In 51 games this season, Williams is having a career year by averaging a whopping 23.3 points, 5.3 assists, 2.3 rebounds and 1.1 steals per game in roughly 32.5 minutes of action per contest as the Clippers' sixth man.
