Golden State Warriors former back-to-back MVP winner Stephen Curry was cooking on Thursday night. The 30-year-old was red hot yet again in Game 1 against the Toronto Raptors, as he logged a game-high 34 points, and in the process, set another franchise scoring record.

That's quite an elite trio right there, and no one will disagree with the fact that Curry absolutely deserves to be part of this exclusive company.

Curry has been killing it for the Dubs in the playoffs, with the six-time All-Star averaging 27.7 points (on 45.2 percent shooting), 4.3 three-pointers, 6.2 rebounds, 5.6 assists, and 0.9 steals in 17 postseason appearances thus far. He has been asked to carry much of the offensive load ever since teammate Kevin Durant succumbed to a calf injury in the second round against the Houston Rockets. In true Curry fashion, the 6-foot-3 point guard has happily obliged, leading his team to the Finals sans Durant.

However, despite Curry's outstanding play in Game 1, the defending champs had no answer to Raptors forward Pascal Siakam who absolutely torched the Warriors with 32 points (on an extremely efficient 14-of-17 shooting), two three-pointers, eight rebounds, five assists, a steal, and two blocks in 40 minutes of action. It was as impressive a Finals debut as any for this season's Most Improved Player of the Year frontrunner.

Nonetheless, the Warriors surely won't be panicking after the defeat. Stephen Curry will most likely keep his hot streak going in Game 2 on Sunday, as Golden State hopes to head back to Oakland for Games 3 and 4 with the series tied at one win apiece.
