Why The Mavericks Could Cover The Spread
The Dallas Mavericks pulled off a promising two-game sweep over the Los Angeles Lakers this past weekend before suffering a tough defeat against the Sacramento Kings on Monday. Kristaps Porzingis sprained his ankle in the series against the Lakers and is still questionable entering this game. Dallas now sits in the sixth spot in the Western Conference standings and has a ton to play for down the stretch. They are one game ahead of a play-in spot and clearly want to stay there.
The Mavericks last game against Sacramento was an up-and-down underwhelming performance. Dallas came out slow, worked their way back, then blew it late. Luka Doncic had another solid outing with 24 points, seven boards, and eight assists. Four other Mavericks were in double figures in the loss. Dallas has a favorable schedule down the stretch and will look to capitalize on every game to improve their standing heading into the postseason. The Mavericks are 7-2 ATS in their last nine games against Golden State.

Stephen Curry is clearly back to being the most electrifying player in the NBA. He has been pouring in buckets over the past few weeks and has his team playing phenomenal basketball down the stretch. Golden State has gone 7-3 over their last 10 games and doesn't seem to be slowing down any time soon and the NBA odds in this one reflect that belief. What's been impressive is the defensive prowess that Steve Kerr's bunch has shown lately, too. During the impressive 10 game stretch, Golden State has pulled off wins against teams like the 76ers and the Nuggets.
The defense has stepped up thanks to the leadership of Draymond Green. Green has called himself the best defensive player in NBA history and although he may not be that, he's definitely playing some of the best defense in the league today. The Warriors have found the perfect time to get hot as they'll have six lottery teams on the schedule following this matchup with Dallas. In the last win against Sacramento, Stephen Curry continued his offensive dominance with 37 points on 50% shooting from deep. Golden State continues to dominate at the Chase Center, going 6-1 over their last seven home games.
