As one would expect, the Golden State Warriors' defense plummets when power forward Draymond Green is not playing.
Green has missed the previous six games with a toe injury, and the three-time All-Star likely won’t make it back until at least the Atlanta Hawks game next Monday, which means the Warriors' defense could get even worse without their Swiss Army knife.
Warriors defensive rating this season
-In Draymond Green's 396 minutes on the court: 101.7
-In Draymond Green's 665 minutes off of it: 111.3— Anthony Slater (@anthonyVslater) November 27, 2018

In 13 games this season, Draymond Green is averaging 6.9 points, 7.5 rebounds and 7.2 assists per game. The 28-year-old is shooting 44.4 percent from the field, 22.2 percent from beyond the arc and 66.7 percent from the free-throw line.
Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry are the best players on the Warriors, but a case could be made that Draymond Green is the most important. His defense, toughness, and energy are what make Golden State so dominant. His ability to guard positions 1-4 is a big reason why Green won the 2017 Defensive Player of the Year award.
Green has only played in one game since the incident with Durant that occurred against the Los Angeles Clippers at Staples Center. He had an awful game versus the Houston Rockets, scoring zero points in 23 minutes of action. The Warriors are 15-7 on the season and have won three-straight games after losing four in a row for the first time in the Steve Kerr era. Golden State is about to embark on a five-game road trip.
