Golden State Warriors owner Joe Lacob recently said he wants All-Star power forward Draymond Green to be a Warrior for life.

Green becomes an unrestricted free agent in the summer of 2020 if he and the Warriors don't agree on a contract extension before then. The 29-year-old says it felt really good to hear Lacob's statement:

Green signed with agent Rich Paul of Klutch Sports earlier this season. The Warriors' do-it-all swingman made $17,469,565 this season and is set to make $18,539,130 in 2019-20.

Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson hit the open market this summer. Thompson is widely expected to re-sign with the Dubs on a long-term deal, while no one really knows what Durant is going to do. The former MVP has been linked to signing with the New York Knicks and Brooklyn Nets. KD could also sign another one-plus-one deal with the Warriors.

After having an up-and-down regular season, Green is starting to look like himself in the playoffs. The three-time All-Star is averaging 12.6 points, 8.5 rebounds and 7.9 assists through eight games while shooting 51.8 percent from the field and 70.6 percent from the free-throw line.

For the Warriors to win their third-straight title and fourth ring in five years, this version of Green will need to continue to show up.
