Draymond Green’s summer vacation will continue without him attending this week’s Team USA minicamp this week. According to Marc J. Spears of ESPN, the three-time All-Star forward is not going to show up in Las Vegas for the said camp, though, no specific reason as to why was noted.

The camp, which will be run by Team USA head coach Gregg Popovich, is a voluntary activity, so it does not seem as though Green will greatly hurt his chances of being included in the final cut by missing it. That being said, with a pool stacked with talented players at his disposal, Popovich’s decision may come down to things as trivial as the players’ attendance records.

It’s worth noting that Green is far from the only NBA star skipping the minicamp. Kawhi Leonard of the Toronto Raptors, LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers, and Green’s Golden State teammate Stephen Curry have all begged off from participating in the camp.

Nevertheless, Team USA should remain as the heavy favorites to win the major competitions they are intending to join.

The United States’ national basketball team is preparing for the FIBA World Cup in 2019 and the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, which they have had dominated over the past several iterations of those events.

Last season, Draymond Green averaged 11.0 points, 7.6 rebounds, 7.3 assists, 1.4 steals, and 1.1 blocks per game for the Warriors.
