Even before the NBA Finals are over, rumors have spread around the league that Golden State Warriors star Kevin Durant is destined to leave the team in the offseason. Obviously, NBA players and coaches from different teams thought of different ways to make their team more attractive to Durant, one of the best players in the league.
However, Durant had a terse response when he heard other teams were planning to take a shot at him while the Warriors were still locked in the biggest playoff series of the year:
“I can’t be recruited. Write that.”

While it might be true that Durant is destined for greener pastures this offseason, there is no denying that he has given his all to his current team. He attempted to come back from injury in Game 5 only to re-injure himself, and some fear it could be an Achilles tear.
Durant easily could have held back and let the Warriors go it with four All-Stars instead of five. The team is good enough to hang with any team without him. Instead, Durant gave it a go to help his teammates and it ended up backfiring.
Durant shouldn't be questioned for his heart. Some players wouldn't have even thought of playing. Even if he does end up elsewhere next season, Warriors fans should appreciate what he has done for the team and the championship he helped bring them.
