Kevin Durant will be re-evaluated in a week and is not yet ready to resume on-court work following a mild calf sprain suffered in Game 5 of the Golden State Warriors' series against the Houston Rockets, according to the team.

ESPN's Ramona Shelburne reportedly earlier Thursday that Durant wasn't close to returning, and the Warriors echoed that with their official statement on both Durant and DeMarcus Cousins.

The Dubs' leading scorer this postseason left late in the third quarter of that game and has not been back since, missing a clinching Game 6 on the road against the Rockets and a series-opening Game 1 victory against the Portland Trail Blazers on Tuesday.

Durant has now been out for a full week, lining up with what it would take for a Grade 1 strain to heal (7-to-10 days). The four-time scoring champion suffered the injury two previous times as a member of the Oklahoma City Thunder, both times taking roughly a week to fully heal.

Before suffering the injury, Durant was leading all playoff scorers with an average of 34.2 points per game on a crisp 51.3% shooting from the floor, 41.6% from deep and 90.1% from the foul line on a whisker more than 10 attempts per outing.

Durant was having arguably his best all-around postseason to date, putting up a 50-40-90 line for the ages, which included 45- and 50-point games against the LA Clippers in the first round and a 46-point losing effort against the Rockets in Game 3.

The Warriors are 2-0 without Durant, but they will eventually need him back before the NBA Finals, where they could face their biggest test yet if they reach that stage for the fifth straight season in pursuit of the rare three-peat.
