Golden State Warriors general manager Bob Myers says star small forward Kevin Durant won't travel to Portland for Games 3 and 4 of the Western Conference Finals against the Blazers.

Durant is still recovering from the right calf strain he suffered in Game 5 of the Warriors' second round series versus the Houston Rockets.

The Warriors are up 1-0 on the Blazers and will look to take a 2-0 series lead on Thursday. The Dubs won Game 1 by 22 points.

Because Golden State has Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green and Andre Iguodala, they don't need to rush Durant back. After all, the Warriors won the 2014 championship over LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers without KD.

However, the Warriors are probably going to need Durant in the NBA Finals. The Milwaukee Bucks and Toronto Raptors are two elite teams and Golden State would like to have the services of KD should they defeat the Blazers and advance to their fifth-straight NBA Finals.

Durant is averaging 34.2 points, 5.2 rebounds and 4.9 assists per game in the 2019 playoffs. The former MVP is shooting an efficient 51.3 percent from the floor, 41.6 percent from beyond the arc and 90.1 percent from the free-throw line.

In a perfect world, the Warriors sweep the Blazers, allowing Durant more time to recover since the Bucks-Raptors series most likely won't end in a sweep.
