The Golden State Warriors continue to make it rain threes in the NBA.

The Warriors just broke the current NBA record for most 3-pointers in a half in regular-season play against the Chicago Bulls, canning 17 treys out of 27 attempts. The previous record was 16, which the Cleveland Cavaliers set in 2016 against the Portland Trail Blazers.

Klay Thompson did most of the damage for the Warriors in the first 24 minutes, hitting a record ten 3-pointers out of 14 attempts. Alfonzo McKinnie had four treys in the half, while Stephen Curry went 2-for-4 from beyond the arc.

Remarkably, the Warriors' scoring outburst led to a franchise record 92 points in the first half. The Bulls, on the other hand, made just 52 points in the half.

The record for the most 3-pointers in a regular season game is 25. The Cavs also set it back in 2017, against the Atlanta Hawks.

But Thompson has been the story of the night. The All-Star shooting guard sank 14 long-distance shots en route to breaking teammate Curry's NBA record for three-pointers in a game. This was a long-awaited night from Thompson who had been on a horrible slump to begin the season.

The Warriors continue to get even scarier as the season progresses. Next thing you know, DeMarcus Cousins is already playing for the team.
