In the season opener on Tuesday night, the Golden State Warriors fell just short of earning a win against the revamped Houston Rockets.

Despite that, veteran guard Shaun Livingston attempted on Wednesday afternoon to take some positives away from the loss on opening night at Oracle Arena.

There may be much sarcasm with this analysis from Livingston, but the loss shouldn't draw too much concern from the Warriors. It came down to execution during the later minutes of the game as Golden State struggled to close out the contest that they once had a comfortable double-digit lead. They had also nearly won the game on a baseline jumper from Kevin Durant that was a mere couple tenths of a second from counting as the game-winner.

What should also be taken into serious consideration is the fact that Draymond Green left the game with a left knee injury that has since undergone an MRI that came out negative. If anything, this situation is much more concerning given Green's importance to the Warriors' long-term success on the court.

Golden State will have an opportunity to bounce back on Friday night against the New Orleans Pelicans, which will mark the first stop of their three-game road trip. The Pelicans are coming off a 103-91 loss in their season opener to the Memphis Grizzlies.
