The Golden State Warriors have a chance to win their third-straight championship this season, and star point guard Stephen Curry admits he and his teammates have talked about it.

The Warriors are heavy favorites to win the title in 2018-19 and, barring something unforeseen, Golden State will likely accomplish the tremendous feat which was last done by the Los Angeles Lakers (1999-02).

“We talk about the three-peat just because it's in front of us,” Curry said, via Nick Friedell of ESPN. “I don't think that's something that's repeated every single day. But when we start the season, obviously we lay everything out on the table, what's at stake in terms of our expectations.

“In terms of the overall goal, it just depends on the day in terms of how we communicate it. But yeah, we understand that winning a championship is attainable if we take care of our business, and doing it three years in a row is a tremendous opportunity for us that we should not be afraid to talk about and go after.”

Golden State added All-Star big man DeMarcus Cousins this summer. Once he fully recovers from his Achilles injury, Cousins will join Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Kevin Durant and Draymond Green in the Warriors’ starting lineup. That's five All-Stars in one lineup.

Last year, Curry averaged 26.4 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 6.1 assists per game during the regular season. The sharpshooter shot 49.5 percent from the field, 42.3 percent from beyond the arc, and 92.1 percent from the free-throw line. The two-time league MVP has already established himself as the greatest shooter of all-time. Entering this season, Curry has made 2,129 long-distance shots in his pro career. That ranks seventh place in NBA history. When it’s all said and done, Curry will likely pass Ray Allen for most 3-pointers made in history. Allen made 2,973 in his career.
