Stephen Curry was forced to adopt a different style of leadership with a daunting challenge ahead of this 2018-19 season, knowing it would take much more to help his Golden State Warriors team muster up the juice to push for a three-peat.
Prior to the start of the season, Curry invited shooting coach Bruce Fraser to his home, throwing ideas back and forth, ranging from how the Warriors would become the sixth team in NBA history to win three NBA championships, to how they would maintain their consistent winning habits while adding an extra bit of spice to the monotonous NBA 82-game schedule, to how DeMarcus Cousins would adapt to the fold:
“That’s probably the biggest thing and change in how he had been in the past,” Fraser told Mark Medina of The Mercury News. “It was how interested and connected he was with what was going to happen at the higher level.”

Curry admitted this was a different approach he had to take, but played it down to being merely a conversation between two people who know each other well enough to exchange thought-provoking questions:
“You got to be active in terms of trying to get ahead of certain themes,” Curry said of his pre-season meeting with Fraser. “But it’s more so just me and him getting excited talking about the new year and talking about what it could look like.”
These questions, even with nearly 90 percent of the season already under wraps, still remain somewhat unanswered, and it's unlikely they will be fully answered until the Warriors' playoff performances start to speak for themselves.
