Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry is recovering from a groin strain he endured last week against the Milwaukee Bucks. It looks like Curry will be out a bit longer than he presumably hoped:

Curry will travel on the Warriors' upcoming three-game road trip through Texas, but he won't play and is set to miss several more games when they return home.

Curry's injury could linger due to the sensitive nature of a groin strain and how quickly it could be re-injured. Curry has been fantastic this season, averaging 29.5 points, 6.1 assists, 5.0 rebounds and a steal in 12 games.

Curry's absence has clearly done the rest of the team no favors since drama has mounted with Kevin Durant and Draymond Green. The two-time MVP is a reliable leader for the Warriors, and his presence is undoubtedly missed.

With no firm timetable for his return, Quinn Cook will continue to fill in for Curry during his recovery. Cook has been great for the Warriors in Curry's absence, scoring 27 points on 11-of-16 shooting in a win over the Brooklyn Nets and most recently putting up 18 points against the Atlanta Hawks.

Stephen Curry has had his injury issues in the past, though he has never had problems with his groin before. Because this is a “new” injury for the superstar sharpshooter, the Warriors are going to be as safe as possible before sending him back out on the floor. Golden State obviously has a ton of talent either way, so he can afford to miss time.
