Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry had a supernova 51-point outing against the Washington Wizards is one that will live in his memory for a long time. Curry put in a display of fireworks for the home crowd and even his own teammates, who encouraged him to empty every bullet in the chamber before the first quarter clock ran out.

With only minutes to digest what had taken place, the Warriors star recalled his favorite moment of a blazing night at Oracle Arena.

“The last 3 of the first quarter was probably the funniest thing I’ve experienced on the court, where two guys on my team are yelling at me at the time I’m at the (opposite) free-throw line, like, ‘don’t pass it, don’t pass it, you better shoot it!'” Curry told Tim Kawakami of The Athletic. “All that type of stuff, I’m hearing it while I’m dribbling down. That’s kind of all the motivation you need to kind of launch it. Thankfully, it went in.”

Curry had hoisted a 34-foot shot and swished it. Why? Because he could.

His fellow Warriors were celebrating, The O exploded in joy, and there would be more to come. That shot was Curry's third from deep, only to bury yet another in the very next possession, this time from a conservative 29 feet, a pair of free throws and a layup to cap a personal 18-point run to close out the quarter with 23 points to his name.

Stephen Curry tied his career-high at home, one he had not reached since scorching the Dallas Mavericks in similar fashion in February of 2015. He also put up 53 against the New Orleans Pelicans in 2015-16 at the Smoothie King Center and a career-high 54 at The Mecca against the New York Knicks during his fourth season in the league (2012-13).
