Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry has been hampered by an injury to the ring finger on his shooting hand lately. That injury kept him out of the Warriors’ loss to the Sacramento Kings.
But while Curry has managed to play in the two games since, the injury to his hand is still visibly bothering him and he admits it could be a while before it completely gets better.
Stephen Curry still noticeably grimacing, bothered by ring finger on shooting hand. He tells ESPN it hasn’t gotten better. “It’s not going away anytime soon. It’s something I’ll have to play through.”

To Curry’s credit, though, he’s not letting the injury affect his play too significantly even though he remains in discomfort. It’s a testament to his toughness, which he’s not particularly known for, that he’s managed to continue being just as effective.

It could also be a testament to the advice Kobe Bryant provided when Curry sought his counsel to help him play with the injured finger. Whatever it was Kobe said to Curry, it’s working.
The Warriors obviously want and need their star point guard to be as healthy as possible. Unfortunately, it'll just take a bit more time before his hand fully heals.
On the bright side, though, at least Curry’s performances haven’t dipped thanks to the terrific mental fortitude he's showing by playing through the pain.
