Former back-to-back MVP winner Stephen Curry is definitely not one to rest on his laurels. As a matter of fact, the Golden State Warriors superstar point guard is reportedly already back in the gym, looking to further expand his already elite arsenal.

Brandon Payne, a Warriors trainer who has been working behind the scenes with Curry for nearly a decade now, recently gave us an inside look at what has been keeping the six-time All-Star busy this offseason.

“We’re continuing on his skill expansion; we’re still trying to expand his skill set,” Payne said, via Monte Poole of NBC Sports. “We’re adding things to be more efficient. We make adjustments based on what we saw over 82 games, plus playoffs. We take a look at what teams did that may have had some success against him and we try to neutralize those things going into the next season.”

This is the type of stuff that makes good players great. You can call Curry a lot of things, but one thing you can never accuse him of is being a slacker. The 31-year-old has a comprehensive understanding of where he and the Warriors stand at the moment, and the three-time NBA champ knows what exactly is expected of him in the coming year.

For the first time in a long time, Curry and the Dubs will no longer be the favorites to win the title. A lot will be riding on Steph this year, following the departure of two-time Finals MVP Kevin Durant and the lengthy injury layoff of Klay Thompson, but as it appears, Curry is absolutely relishing the challenge ahead.
