If there's one thing NBA fans must know about Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr, it's that his comedy chops are just as sharp as his coaching abilities. He's shown it since his playing days with the Chicago Bulls, and he showed it once again as his Warriors kept their winning streak alive against the Phoenix Suns to the score of 105-96.
He was asked during the post-game presser how the atmosphere in the locker room is now that they've won four straight games in time for the Yuletide festivities. Kerr played the narrative and made a bold declaration that easily would have been seen as a bold statement if any other coach made the declaration.
Anthony Slater of The Athletic shared the hilarious moment that definitely got more than a few chuckles from fans:

The irony is tasty in Kerr's declaration. The Warriors are 9-24 after going on a four-game winning streak, and it's very unlikely that they'll make the NBA playoffs this year as two of their key players — Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson — are sidelined due to injury. It's unlikely that they'll be able to win the second of their back-to-back games as they're facing another ambitious young team in the Dallas Mavericks today.
However, the Warriors will be approaching this the same way they did the past four matches: they will be walking in as underdogs and play with the hunger to get as close to the win as they can. They've mastered the right mentality over the week and should be able to give everyone an entertaining clash against a very outstanding Mavericks side.
