The Golden State Warriors are reportedly keeping their hotline open for possible trades involving Kelly Oubre Jr. in order to get some assets in return. However, at the same time, they aren't aggressively pushing for a deal that would ship away the 25-year-old swingman just yet.

Via Zach Lowe of ESPN:

“The Warriors are listening to lots of potential offers on Oubre, league sources said. They don't seem to feel much urgency to move Oubre, sources said. On the flip side, Golden State seems to be taking a pretty honest view of what this particular roster can do this season — and might be willing to move Oubre for something that helps it in the future, league sources said. Oubre will be an unrestricted free agent this summer.”

Oubre isn't having a strong campaign in the 2020-21 season as he is only settling for averages of 14.9 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 1.3 assists through 41 games played this season. In addition to his subpar numbers, he has also failed to show consistency as he often struggled all throughout the season.

Perhaps the greatest weakness of his game is his three-point shooting as he is only knocking down a measly 30.2% from beyond the arc this season for the Warriors. Despite his inability to become a reliable shooter, Oubre makes up for it by showcasing his athleticism all over the floor.

The Kansas product is already playing the last season of his two-year, $30 million contract signed with the Phoenix Suns back in 2019. With his impending free agency in the coming offseason, the Warriors could be wise to deal him away in the coming trade deadline in order to still get some assets in exchange for his services.
