Golden State Warriors superstar Kevin Durant's barrage of one-and-one deals only suggests the superstar forward is bound to take his talents elsewhere at some point, using free agency as his means to escape.

While the New York Knicks have been a blip on his radar due to manager Rich Kleiman's deep ties to the franchise as a native New Yorker, Durant is unlikely to bolt just yet until he's touched down in San Francisco, according to Marc Stein of The New York Times.

“Knicks fans dreaming of a Durant signing next summer are hereby forewarned: It's not inconceivable that he may actually choose to make Madison Square Garden home someday, but it's extremely difficult to imagine the Silicon Valley-loving Durant doing so without playing at least one season in the Warriors' new Chase Center palace in San Francisco, which doesn't open until the 2019-20 campaign.”

The Big Apple is surely a destination Durant would consider due to its star power and the many activities and connections that could grow his brand to astronomical levels, but the techie in Durant is chomping at the chance to play with new toys, which the Chase Center will have plenty of as a state of the art facility.

It's still unknown if Durant is seeking to collect one more title before building his legacy elsewhere, or if he's looking to see how far he can take this dynasty under the current roster construction.

The Warriors have made move after move following his signing in 2016 — much more than the Oklahoma City Thunder had given him during his years with the franchise. The Knicks are still trying to clean up a foul-smelling reputation under a new front office and will have to have a product in-hand to even pitch Durant into joining, no matter how attractive Lady Liberty is to the avid tech savant.
