Golden State Warriors superstar shooting guard Klay Thompson has reportedly set his sights on making his silver screen debut. As stated by Fox Sports' Jason McIntyre in his radio program, “The Jason McIntyre Show,” the 28-year-old has reportedly already committed to staring alongside Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James in the upcoming “Space Jam 2” film.

“Everybody thinks (Klay Thompson) is probably staying with the Warriors and I would agree with that,” McIntyre said. “But I heard some news this week that could change things. That Klay Thompson is now ‘locked in' to do ‘Space Jam 2.' I don't think that news is anywhere.

“I Googled it last night, I went on the internet. Nobody has it. I do believe an announcement will come out after The Finals that Klay Thompson is committed to ‘Space Jam 2,' he will be in the movie.”

While this is some pretty exciting news for Thompson fans, it may not exactly be the type of rumor Warriors supporters want to hear right now. With the five-time All-Star set to become an unrestricted free agency, this recent development might just have an effect on his decision this summer.

The general consensus is that Thompson will sign an extension with Golden State. However, if he is serious about pursuing a career in Hollywood, then a move to L.A. to join LeBron with the Lakers — something that has been rumored in the past — might just be in the books.

With the Warriors fighting for dear life in the Finals against the Toronto Raptors, this is exactly the type of distraction the team has to avoid right now. They have a gargantuan task at hand against a surging Raptors side, and every single player on the roster will need to be locked in one hundred if they want to stand a chance at overcoming their current 3-1 deficit.
