The Atlanta Hawks are set to sign Erie Bayhawks guard Jaylen Morris to a 10-day contract, per a report made by Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

The move comes as a result of them having a two roster spots open following the release of Marco Belinelli and Ersan Ilyasova. Morris, who went undrafted in lat June's draft, has been a revelation in the G-League, despite only coming from a Division II school, Molloy College. Standing at 6-foot-5, he has the ability to play both guard positions, and will help address the Hawks' need for depth in their backcourt rotation.

In 39 games he's appeared in for the Bayhawks, Morris has averaged 12.6 points, 4.8 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.2 steals in 31.4 minutes.

Just last week, Atlanta signed Antonius Cleveland to a 10-day contract as well, but he has yet to see action for them. Morris, on the other hand, may actually get a chance to showcase his talents at the highest level, especially with the them needing more players to share the minutes at either the point guard or shooting guard position. This can be considered as Morris' biggest break so far, and if he can make the most out of it and prove that he deserves his roster spot, he could be in line for a longer contract next time, and sign a guaranteed one for at least the remainder of the season. He is expected to suit up starting on Wednesday against the Indiana Pacers, and could already see action if head coach Mike Budenholzer decides to field him in on the night.
