The Sacramento Kings very nearly beat the New Orleans Pelicans at the buzzer in regulation. After Zach Randolph’s potential game-winning shot came up long, 40-year-old Vince Carter was able to leap up and deliver a putback slam over Anthony Davis. But alas, it didn’t count as Carter’s dunk came just a second too late.

The good news for the Kings was that there was still overtime to play and they eventually took care of business in the extra period to get the 116-109 win.
Article Continues BelowDespite missing the potential game-winner in regulation, Randolph was clearly the big hero for the Kings as he came up with a season-high 35 points and 13 rebounds. Meanwhile, Carter had six points and four rebounds in 32 minutes, with his plus-minus of plus-21 tied with Buddy Hield for the team lead.
Carter is finally back to playing consistent minutes after suffering from kidney stones last month. And with the Kings shorthanded in the frontcourt, he stepped up to play a season-high in minutes. He also very nearly contributed one of the more dramatic game-winners of the season, but while it came up just a little too late, he still played his part in getting the Kings the win.
