Lonzo Ball's recent change of haircut is apparently not his way of hopefully snapping out of his current shooting funk. But the Los Angeles Lakers rookie is undergoing yet another change, this time in terms of his demeanor.
Per Tania Ganguli of the Los Angeles Times:
Luke Walton said Lonzo Ball was a little different today. “Not the same playful, joyful Lonzo he normally is.” Said that can be a good thing, struggles can make you work harder.
Ball has had an abysmal time of late in terms of scoring the ball. He’s averaging just five points on 27 percent shooting over his last three games. His rebounding and assist totals have also dipped to just 5.3 rebounds and 4.3 assists during that span.
Although he’s a more playful person by nature, Ball’s current predicament likely requires a somewhat more serious and business-like attitude in order to change his fortunes. He really needs to get to work on fixing his shooting woes, which are affecting his team’s offense in a significant way.
It remains to be seen whether this change in Ball’s demeanor actually turns out to be a positive for his play moving forward. But given how poorly he’s been playing recently, Ball can’t afford to rule out making more changes to his attitude as well as his game until he finally turns things around.
