The internet never forgets. No one is an exception; not even if you're the President of the United States.

A number of old tweets from President Donald Trump himself has resurfaced in the midst of his current dispute with LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers. As it turns out, Trump once held James in high regard, and Jesse Yomtov of USA Today unearthed some of the President's old tweets to prove this.

Finally, Trump once again proved to the world how he admired James' unmatched skill on the basketball court when he complimented the Akron, Ohio native on his game-winning buzzer-beater against the Chicago Bulls in the 2016 Eastern Conference Finals.

All these tweets have come back to haunt Trump, as his recent change of heart appears to be nothing more than a knee-jerk reaction to the accusations James has thrown at him. Then again, this is not the first time Trump has done a complete 180 on something.

Numerous personalities both inside and outside the world of basketball have come out in support of LeBron. Even the Governor of Ohio, John Kasich, has defended James, claiming that his recent humanitarian work far outweigh the criticism that is being hurled towards his direction.

The world of sports and politics have collided once again, this time at the highest magnitude, with the most powerful man in the world going up against one of the greatest basketball players of all time.
