Over the past two seasons, Los Angeles Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka has been criticized for the questionable decisions he's made throughout his tenure with the team. Jeanie Buss is standing behind him.

Pelinka has taken several hits. From bringing in the ‘meme squad' last season to reportedly not having enough knowledge when the Lakers pushed for the Anthony Davis trade last week, fans have wondered if Pelinka is the right GM for the Purple and Gold.

Lakers owner Jeanie Buss is still confident that the organization made the right choice of hiring Pelinka. She was interviewed by the L.A. Times' Arash Markazi during the NBA Awards show, when she said that the Lakers will be able to accomplish their goal this summer under Pelinka's leadership.

“I have 100 percent confidence in Rob Pelinka running our basketball operations. There will be a lot of changes. Lakers fans, be patient. We’re going to get there. We’re not going to stop until we’re all proud. I’ve always had confidence in Rob. Whatever the speculation is out there, we don’t need the outside media to validate what we do. I’m very happy. I think we’re on the right path but there’s still more work to do.”

To his credit, Pelinka was able to give the Lakers another superstar: AD is now part of the team. He, alongside LeBron James, makes the Lakers a legitimate title contender next season. But L.A. is not satisfied with having two megastars; the Lakers are still planning to nab one of the top-tier free agents next week.

Pelinka is working on freeing enough cap space to create another max slot, which the Lakers will use to sign either Kawhi Leonard, Kyrie Irving, or Kemba Walker once free agency opens on June 30.
