Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James is still playing at an unbelievable level at 35 years old, and Steve Kerr believes he is playing better than he did at the peak of his career.

Despite the age difference from then and now, Kerr claimed that James is a “way better player” today than he was during his time with the Miami Heat.

“I think LeBron is actually a way better player now than he was six years ago when he played in Miami,” Kerr said of the Lakers leader on 95.7 The Game, via Alex Didion of NBC Sports. “It’s remarkable watching the offensive transformation since then, and his confidence in his shooting, and that’s what Miami has to deal with.”

Since he accepted the head coaching job with the Golden State Warriors, Steve Kerr has had his fair share of battles with LeBron James. To be exact, Kerr's Dubs have squared off against James 38 times, including 22 games in the NBA Finals.

Given that, Kerr understands just how dominant the Lakers forward has been throughout the years, regardless of where he has played. When looking at the entirety of his career, James' best version of himself was arguably his four seasons with the Heat.

Statistically speaking, LeBron's points are down compared to his years in Miami, but his assist numbers have drastically increased. The gifted facilitator at small forward finished the 2019-2020 season with a career-best 10.2 assists per game for the Lakers, and his rebounds were on par with his Heat days at 7.8 boards per outing.

It is remarkable to watch LeBron wreak havoc in the NBA in his 17th season. Even though he may not be able to jump out of the gym like he once could, Kerr is of the belief that this is the best version of James fans have seen.
