The Los Angeles Lakers have been struggling again of late and it's no coincidence that they've gone 1-3 in the last four games LeBron James has been sidelined due to injury. The good news for LA is LeBron appears to be progressing well in his rehab and he could be back in action sooner rather than later.

NBA insider Shams Charania recently provided a timely update on the status of James, who has been dealing with a knee injury over the past week. According to Shams, LeBron could be back for the Lakers in the coming days:

“LeBron James is going to continue to manage that knee injury,” Shams saidon The Rally. “He's dealing with a level of irritation, I'm told, so it will be a day-to-day treatment managing program that LeBron James is gonna have. He's expected to miss his fifth straight game tonight against the Clippers on the road. … He's going to continue to rehab over the next several days, continue to get treatment, and the hope is that he's back in the next few days if not the next few games.”

While there appears to be no firm timetable for his return, the fact that LeBron is already expected to come back within the next few days definitely bodes well for the Lakers. He won't be returning he's unless one hundred percent healthy — or at least close to it — but LA should get their talisman back in the near future.
