Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James is in the running for the 2020 MVP award.
James is a four-time MVP, but hasn't won the award since 2013 when he was on the Miami Heat.
The Lakers star says he's never really been motivated to win the award and is more focused on being the best player in the world. That usually leads to the MVP anyway.

The Lakers have the best record in the Western Conference at 47-13. LeBron is leading the NBA in assists, but since the Milwaukee Bucks have the top record in the league again, most pundits believe Giannis Antetokounmpo will win his second consecutive MVP trophy.
If that happens, it won't really bother James. The King has bigger fish to try, as he's trying to win his fourth NBA championship and bring banner No. 17 to the Lakers franchise.
LeBron is averaging 25.4 points, 7.8 rebounds and 10.7 assists on the season. He's shooting 49.7 percent from the field, 35.1 percent from beyond the arc and 69.3 percent from the free-throw line.
The Lakers are back in action on Friday against Giannis and the Bucks. Los Angeles lost to Milwaukee early in the season, so you know LeBron and the Lakers will be eager to get some revenge.
Now that he's healthy again, LeBron has been active on defense, something we didn't see last season when he was dealing with that groin injury. The Lakers need James to be elite on defense during the playoffs if they are going to win the whole thing.
