The Los Angeles Lakers have received great news regarding Larry Nance Jr.

After a promising rookie campaign, Nance was the standout performer for the Purple & Gold in summer league, filling up the scoresheet in a variety of columns. He even received some M-V-P chants, something previously reserved by Laker fans for Kobe Bryant.

Then, a franchise that's been down on its luck in recent years was hit again. Nance went fell hard in the final minutes of LA's final summer league game against the Cavaliers, landing on his right hand. Initial reports stated that Nance fractured the 3rd metacarpal in that hand.

The injury might not have caused Nance to miss much regular season time with a few months to heal, but he would've been absent for valuable hours of practice with his teammates, as well as on his own game. The Lakers will be implementing a new system under head coach Luke Walton, and it would've been rough for Nance to sit on the sidelines while everything is being installed.

Luckily, the initial diagnosis was incorrect. An MRI revealed that Nance's wrist was merely sprained, with no fractures or damaged ligaments.

And now, just a month later, Lakers beat reporter Mike Trudell indicates that Larry's recovery is nearly complete:

The sprained R wrist of Larry Nance, Jr. is “close to completely healed,” per LAL. Back in L.A., he’s been shooting at the team facility.

You can take a deep breath, Los Angeles.
