Desmond Bane and the Memphis Grizzlies are perfect for each other. Bane fits perfectly with the young squad that plays with a chip on its shoulder. As the team's premier 3-point shooter, he is extremely important to their game plan. He averages 17.9 points per game while shooting 41.9 percent from beyond the arc.
Bane is also crucial to Memphis because he plays with more attitude than just about anyone else. He's not afraid to talk trash at anyone and embodies their culture as well as any player.
On SiriusXM NBA Radio, Bane made it clear that the Grizzlies are not to be played with. He doubled down on his take that it's dumb for them not to be considered a contender in the Western Conference. Bane previously said on JJ Redick's podcast that the team sees itself as a contender this season.

"It's dumb not to put us in that conversation as a team that can come out of the Western Conference."

The Grizzlies aren't seeing as much consideration as the conference's other top dogs, like the Golden State Warriors and Phoenix Suns, because they have yet to prove they can make the Finals. While the Grizzlies' lack of old veterans may also be a partly to blame, they will ultimately have to show they can reach the top before people beleive they can. Their time may be coming soon, though.
Bane, Ja Morant and Jaren Jackson Jr. have been invaluable to the Grizzlies, who own the league's third-best record. The team has gone on long hot stretches and racked up wins like few other teams have one this season. Although the playoffs are a whole different beast, the Grizzlies are ready to confront it head-on.
