The first game between the Memphis Grizzlies and Golden State Warriors was an intense one. Game 2, on the other hand, has taken things to a different level, especially when Dillon Brooks landed a clothesline on Gary Payton II, which resulted in a flagrant 2 foul on the former and a fractured elbow for the latter. And if Adrian Wojnarowski's tweet is any indication, it looks like the Grizzlies' forward is going to be punished by the NBA.
The NBA will have a decision to make on further punishment for Dillon Brooks, who was ejected for the flagrant 2 foul that led to Payton’s injury. https://t.co/DnQLRJtyJj

In a tweet shared by Woj, the NBA is looking into the incident that led to Payton's injury and Brooks' ejection three minutes into the first quarter. At this point in time, the league hasn't released a statement on the severity of Brooks' punishment. Furthermore, Payton is out indefinitely to recover from the said injury.
During the said game, the Warriors' guard attempted a fast break to the rim with Brooks right behind him. As Payton leaped for a lay-up, the Grizzlies' forward landed a hard clothesline, causing him to land hard on his elbow. Payton was then seen writing in pain while grabbing his arm.

Officials initially sanctioned Brooks with a flagrant foul 1. After reviewing the play, it was upgraded because the windup and impact on Payton's head were prone to injury.
For his part, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said that Brooks crossed a line and ‘broke the code' with his play on Payton.

Earlier during the series, the Warriors' Draymond Green picked up a flagrant foul 2 after being involved in a physical play with Brandon Clarke. In the case of Dillon Brooks, it remains to be seen whether the NBA suspends him for at least one game after a nasty play that led to Payton's elbow injury. What's certain at this point is that the fight between the Warriors and Grizzlies is just starting to heat up.
