Unlike the Los Angeles Lakers or the Philadelphia 76ers, the Memphis Grizzlies are not as linked by rumors to Cleveland Cavaliers superstar LeBron James. This lack of attention, however, is not stopping Dillon Brooks from throwing his hat into the ring of the incoming LeBron James sweepstakes.

That’s not really a convincing ploy to get James look Memphis’ way. Thousands, if not millions, of folks on Twitter mention James on the daily, so Brooks has to come up with a better plan to stand out among the LeBron James-demanding crowd in social media. However, we’re going to give him some extra points for his clever use of the #ShelbyDriveLookAlive hashtag, which was a reference to that line in Memphis rapper BlocBoy JB’s song “Look Alive.”

Aside from Brooks’ lousy pitch on Twitter, another thing that could get Memphis even at least LeBron’s two minutes is the idea of the superstar forming a Big Three in Memphis with Marc Gasol and Mike Conley.

For that to happen, the Grizzlies will have to find a way to rid itself of Chandler Parson’s punitive contract that runs until 2020.

A trio of Gasol, Conley, and LeBron James definitely sounds like one who could pose headaches even in the tougher Western Conference, but it’s just very unlikely to happen based on the current trend of rumors.

The Grizzlies missed the playoffs this year after making the postseason in each of the previous seven seasons. Having LeBron in their fold would definitely make them an overnight title contender.
