Marc Gasol has been reasonable through his first batch of games with the Los Angeles Lakers. While the Barcelona big man will look to maximize his time next to LeBron James and the Lakers in hopes of bringing in another championship, it was evident that his energy is still felt in the hearts of the Memphis Grizzlies faithful on Sunday.

Prior to tip-off against his former team, Gasol was given a well-deserved tribute video from the Grizzlies in his first return to the FedEx Forum arena.

Gasol spent his first 11 seasons with the Grizzlies where became one of the more popular centers around the league. After many failed attempts in materializing any success, the Grizzlies elected to trade Gasol to the Toronto Raptors in 2019. Gasol was a huge part of the Raptors' then-postseason success and aided the franchise in winning its first-ever championship.

Gasol decided to leave the Raptors after a disappointing 2019-20 season that saw them eliminated in the second round of the playoffs by the Boston Celtics. At 35, Gasol is rounding out the last turn of his career and was looking to find the best chance to win another ring before he retires.

He's currently averaging 3.8 points and 6.2 rebounds through 18.7 minutes per game so far for the Lakers. Unlike some of his last stops, Gasol was brought aboard to be back up Anthony Davis, which explains his decline in production.
