San Antonio Spurs star DeMar DeRozan is gunning for PJ Tucker's throne as the league's undisputed sneaker king. Well, probably not. Nevertheless, DeRozan is definitely getting Ja Morant's vote if there ever was an election for the NBA's top sneaker dawg. Check this (really short) story out.

Morant recently took to Twitter to share his kicks dilemma:

DeRozan, being the valiant dude that he is, quickly came to save Morant from what appeared to be a life-altering quandary:

What a guy DeRozan is. Then again, he did not specify in his tweet whether or not he was giving away his Kobe Bryant kicks for free. Perhaps DeRozan's rescue will come at a price for Ja. After all, a man's gotta eat, right?

Morant probably wanted to dawn a fresh pair of Kobe's for Saturday's tilt with the Golden State Warriors (or maybe as part of his pre-/post-game ‘fit?). The Grizzlies were coming off a loss to the Stephen Curry-less Dubs on Friday night, and perhaps Morant needed a bit of extra motivation entering Saturday's rematch.

Kobe or no Kobe, though, Ja Morant has been simply outstanding for Memphis this season. He is currently averaging 19.2 points per game with 3.4 rebounds and 7.7 assists. He's been one of the biggest reasons why the Grizzlies are fighting for a playoff spot in a ruthless Western Conference. They entered Saturday's game two games behind the ninth-placed Warriors, so it goes without saying that the result of that game will have a significant implication on the Grizzlies' playoff hopes at this point in the season.
